Purpose

The objective of this study is to collate and summarise the results of the other sub-reports in the project ”Etter- og videreutdanning i barnehagesektoren – kartlegging av tilbud og etterspørsel” (Continuing and further education and training in the kindergarten sector - mapping of programmes and demand”). Furthermore, on the basis of the experience  provided by the mapping, conclusions aim at developing a skills-development plan for the daycare centre area.

Result

The summary of the five previous sub-reports and their results show that there is a need to qualify the concept of skills and a need to draw up a skills-development plan for the daycare centre area. It is recommended that this is differentiated so that it encapsulates the specific needs of child carers and childcare assistants as best as possible. The authors also recommend that the daycare sector develop a skills-development plan in dialogue with providers of continuing and further education and training programmes.
